Ingredients

For the Filling:

  • 6 fresh peaches, peeled, pitted, and sliced (or 5 cups canned peaches, drained)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (if using fresh peaches)

For the Topping:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

Prepare the Filling:

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, toss the sliced peaches with sugar, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and cornstarch (if using fresh peaches). Transfer the mixture to a greased 9x9-inch baking dish.

Make the Topping:

  • In a separate bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder.
  • Stir in the milk and melted butter until just combined to form a thick batter.

Assemble the Cobbler:

  • Spoon the batter evenly over the peaches, leaving some gaps for steam to escape.

Bake:

  • Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the peach filling is bubbling.

Serve:

  • Allow the cobbler to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.

Notes

Optional: Add a pinch of nutmeg to the topping for an extra layer of flavor. 🍑
